Imagine a suspension system that allows a super-low stance, track-tuned handling, and—at the push of a button—raised ground-clearance for everyday driving. It sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it’s a reality; welcome to the world of Air Lift Performance.
This high-performance threaded body kit has been specifically designed for the new VW Beetle Turbo model, giving you the ability to adjust the ride height even while on the move. At the touch of a button, you can lower your VW up to 5.8-inches from stock height on the front and rear axle! The result is a car that’s not only super-cool to look at, but also features significantly improved suspension performance while maintaining total practicality on the street.
Air Lift has stepped up the air suspension game with new threaded bag-over, body style air strut. The monotube struts offer 30-level damping adjustment. This allows you to change the damper settings from soft to a stiff performance set-up, only using the convenient damping adjuster to achieve this. Each strut features a threaded body, allowing you to perfectly set up the vehicle by changing the position of the lower mount on the strut. Furthermore, these high-tech struts are topped off with adjustable camber plates carved from T-6061 aircraft aluminum, which means the camber can be adjusted up to three degrees for track use or that perfect wheel fitment.
For the rear, Air Lift Performance has employed the use of double-bellows bags with brackets that simply bolt on to the chassis—no cutting is required. Couple Air Lift’s smooth-riding bag system with the ingenious damping set-up, and the result is nothing short of incredible.
Like anything in life, it is important to start modifications with a good, strong foundation. As impressive as the latest offerings from Subaru are, the beginning of their great foundations accompanied the launch of the Impreza in 1992. Designed as a small, lightweight family sedan, it did not take long for people to figure out just how performance-capable these cars were. While gaining popularity in off-road, rally racing, the Impreza’s reputation eventually found its way onto the streets and—lets face it—an off-road stance is not really what you’re looking for.
If you’re dreaming of hitting a course or laying low at a car show with your first-generation Impreza (more so than driving through the woods and jumping hills), then you should check out our track-tested, bolt-on, adjustable air suspension. To take care of the front end, we coupled our smooth-riding, 2B6 double-bellows bag with a threaded body, 30-way damping, adjustable monotube strut. To add to your level of control over your driving experience, we have installed red anodized, adjustable camber plates made from T6061 aluminum.
For the rear, we used a threaded body monotube strut, topped off with adjustable camber plates and progressive-rate, sleeve-style bags. These damping, adjustable rear struts complement the front to ensure the best possible ride and handling for your Impreza.
Does the wheel gap on your new Golf R make you cringe, but you don’t want to sacrifice ride quality and handling? Well, we understand that you bought your R because you crave a high-performance, well-handling machine. We also understand that you want to modify your ride without compromise.
That’s why Air Lift Performance developed the bag-over style, threaded body strut kit. Not only does this monotube strut offer you a whole new world of adjustment—by simply changing the height of the lower strut mount—but it is also has 30 levels of damping adjustment to really help you conquer the track. To help you reduce your lap times even further, we have included adjustable camber plates that utilize a high-quality spherical bearing. This kit also retains the use of the front sway bar, so you no longer need to sacrifice handling to go low!
In the rear, we use double-bellows bags, along with brackets that simply bolt on to the chassis—no cutting required! When you couple our smooth-riding bags with our 30-way damping adjustable shocks, you get the kind of drop, improved handling, and superb ride quality you are looking for out of your Golf R.
Are you looking for a quality suspension to drop your Impreza? Are ride and handling important to you? Do you want to set your car apart from the crowd?
Yes, there are plenty of choices out there for Subarus…but the problem is, you are enamored with a bunch of other incredible cars, and you secretly long for that slammed look on your Subi. Plenty of people out there think it’s wrong to bag a Subaru because they think it will somehow degrade the sports-sedan handling or make it ride like a marshmallow. You’re probably too cautious to compromise your smooth-riding WRX…but still, that low-stance look has you thinking…
With Air Lift Performance suspension, you really can have both. Air Lift Performance has created the perfect suspension kit to tear up a racetrack, shred some country back roads, or stop people dead in their tracks at a show. As the leader in aftermarket high-performance air suspension, we know what it takes to perfectly balance ride, handling, and stunning good looks. The members of the engineering team involved in the design and development of these kits have over 35 years of road racing experience as drivers, engineers and crew. Performance is not only in our name; it’s in our blood.
So what does it take to have such a versatile suspension? It all starts with a strong foundation. In this case, that foundation is the struts: Air Lift uses 30-way adjustable, monotube struts with a serious range of damping adjustment, and specially tuned to match the air springs.
Monotube construction is the preferred choice—both in racing and for us—for its sensitivity to small inputs, as well as its great ability to shed heat when pushed to the limit. The 30 clicks of adjustment aren’t just for fun, but allow you, the user, to dial in your preferred handling, feel, or desired ride quality. The range goes from super-stiff to really soft, adjusting rebound and compression simultaneously. The struts weigh considerably less than the coil spring parts you remove, reducing unsprung weight—a benefit to both ride and handling.
When the first Volkswagens came to market, they were produced as a vehicle for the masses—simple, affordable, and economical to own. Fast-forward some 80-odd years and they have become highly sophisticated, technically advanced machines. As great as the new VW’s are, that does not stop us from wanting to make them even better! And by “better,” we mean “slammed on the ground.”
For starters, we added our smooth-riding, double-bellows air spring to a threaded body monotube strut. 30 levels of damping adjustment allow you go from race car stiff to a comfortable ride with the twist of a knob. Top all that off with a T6061 aluminum adjustable camber plate covered in a sexy red hue. All this equates to performance handling, killer ride quality and the ability to slam the front end 4.8” from stock.
The rear suspension was treated to a double-bellows air spring in the place of the factory coil spring, giving you a 5.8” drop from original stock height. We also replaced the factory OEM control arm with our industry-first, CNC laser-cut,robotically welded lower control arm to deliver maximum drop and cornering ability. To help keep things under control, we have added monotube shocks with 30 levels of damping adjustability to match the front—for the ultimate in handling and ride comfort!
