Slammed MK4’s are pretty hard to beat—unless you can have that same slammed look and have amazing corner-carving ability. The Air Lift Performance threaded body struts will not only offer you the ability to lay subframe, but will also give you superior handling…all without sacrificing ride comfort. Lowered coils or coilovers will give you some of these features, but you’ll always find yourself compromising at least one of your favorite ride characteristics. We don’t believe you need to compromise if you want to have a lowered look, performance handling, and great ride quality. You can get the best of all worlds with ALP air suspension; all it takes is a push of a button to lift up and clear obstacles, or lay your ride out low at a show. With our extensive racetrack testing, you can rest assured that your car will not only perform on the street, but on the track as well. In order to drop the front 5.8 inches from factory height, we went with a fully threaded mono-tube strut, utilizing a smooth-riding, double-bellow air spring. Bolt-in camber plates, made of T6061 red anodized aluminum, provide alignment-tuning capability and help with wheel fitment. Thanks to the threaded body strut design, the height of the lower mount can be changed, enabling you to further adjust your height depending on wheel and tire size. With 30 different levels of damping, you can go from a soft, smooth ride to a race-car-like stiffness with the twist of the knob. Best of all, this kit allows you to retain your sway bar for the best in handling performance. For the rear, we use a progressive-rate, tapered sleeve nestled in the place of the coil spring. This style of air spring will give you excellent ride quality and overall handling performance. A threaded body mono-tube shock with 30 levels of damping adjustment take the bounce out of the system, giving your ride very predictable and stable handling. All of this equates to a 4.9 inches drop in the rear.
Since its first release in 1982, the world’s automotive press and aficionados alike have been celebrating the classic BMW. Ever since then, the E30 has seen all kinds of modifications: everything from V8 swaps to full-on custom builds…this platform has pretty much seen it all. After all, it’s hard to beat a small, lightweight rear wheel drive car for the ultimate fun factor!
You know your Bimmer was born to succeed everywhere, from idling in the executive parking lot to shredding curves on back roads—but instead of shredding curves, you’re shedding tears over the factory stock height. The E30’s love of wheel gap makes all the wrong first impressions. Since we believe wheel gap is one of those things that you can get too much of, our ALP engineers took on the task of putting the E30 chassis way closer to the pavement than any BMW engineer would have ever thought possible.
You know your BMW corners the market in luxury performance…but how would you like to corner the turns on the racetrack just as well? Air Lift Performance has the very solution you need, with an adjustable performance air spring suspension kit—available now for your BMW E30 3-Series.
Before you think this kit is just about going low, you should know we test all of our kits on the track, with the goal of delivering the best most versatile way to lower your BMW without compromise. We realize there are several different ways to slam your E30 to get the look and performance you crave, but do you really want to give up ride quality or scrape everywhere you drive?
For the front kit, we mated a smooth-riding, double-bellows air spring to our 30-level damping adjustable, monotube, threaded body strut, giving you 5.1 inches of drop. The look is topped off with adjustable camber plates made of T6061 red anodized aluminum that utilize a high-quality spherical bearing. Since Bimmer engineers never thought their executive car would see this kind of drop, they didn’t leave the suspension very mod-friendly…so some fabrication work is required. Similar to most aftermarket suspension systems, this is a weld-in kit that requires high-quality welding capabilities. This kit asks that you weld the outside perimeter of the lower mount to the hub. Unless you are highly confident in your welding skills, we recommend turning the installation over to a professional.
The rear is a much more install-friendly design. We simply replace the factory coil spring with a double-bellows air spring, giving you a 5.6-inch drop. To keep the rear from bouncing down the road, we use 30-level damping adjustable, monotube, threaded body shocks. With black chromed shock bodies and bright red accents, these shocks look just as sharp as they function. And there’s no welding necessary for this kit—just check out the Air Lift Performance instruction manuals and have basic hand tools nearby to complete installation.
We know you like your Volkswagen low…that’s why we made sure that our kit gets you as low as the ground will allow! With over 5 inches of drop available, your stance will be the envy of the coilover crowd. Not only do you get the look you want, but the performance you’ll get on your favorite roads will impress you.
At the heart of the front kit are our performance valved struts that use a compact, double- bellows air spring for a smooth ride. The rear kit has a sleeve-style, progressive-rate air spring atop our performance shock. These powder-coated and anodized parts come fully assembled and ready to bolt-on.
Like anything in life, it is important to start modifications with a good, strong foundation. As impressive as the latest offerings from Subaru are, the beginning of their great foundations accompanied the launch of the Impreza in 1992. Designed as a small, lightweight family sedan, it did not take long for people to figure out just how performance-capable these cars were. While gaining popularity in off-road, rally racing, the Impreza’s reputation eventually found its way onto the streets and—lets face it—an off-road stance is not really what you’re looking for.
If you’re dreaming of hitting a course or laying low at a car show with your first-generation Impreza (more so than driving through the woods and jumping hills), then you should check out our track-tested, bolt-on, adjustable air suspension. To take care of the front end, we coupled our smooth-riding, 2B6 double-bellows bag with a threaded body, 30-way damping, adjustable monotube strut. To add to your level of control over your driving experience, we have installed red anodized, adjustable camber plates made from T6061 aluminum.
For the rear, we used a threaded body monotube strut, topped off with adjustable camber plates and progressive-rate, sleeve-style bags. These damping, adjustable rear struts complement the front to ensure the best possible ride and handling for your Impreza.
The Digital Air Management System allows you to lower & lift the vehicle faster than the traditional analog system. This system uses a solenoid manifold block with electronic touchpad. Perfect for newer vehicles where there isn’t a lot of space on the dashboard for gauges.
